THE PANYAM PROJECT
The Panyam Project event was held to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Baba Godwill Duutle, a former pupil of Central Primary School Panyam. It brought together an enthusiastic gathering of pupils, teachers, the Education Secretary, PTA representatives, the School Supervisor, and other well-wishers. The occasion also marked the maiden initiative of the Godwill Duutle Educational Foundation (GDEF), aimed at improving education quality and supporting vulnerable pupils affected by the violent crisis in Mangu.
The Panyam Project is the inaugural program by GDEF to lay a foundational framework for future educational interventions. The focus of this maiden event was to provide critical instructional and learning materials to the school and its pupils, particularly targeting those severely impacted by the recent crisis. Through this initiative, GDEF demonstrated a commitment to educational empowerment, beginning with its roots at Central Primary School Panyam.
Event Highlights
The event, anchored by the school’s teachers, was chaired by the Head Teacher and featured the presence of the Education Secretary of Mangu, PTA representatives, the School Supervisor, and officials from GDEF.
The event featured:
- Speeches and Remarks: Insightful contributions from invited guests.
- Pupil Presentations: Debate presentations and song ministrations that added a vibrant touch to the ceremony.
- Material Presentation:
- 10 whiteboards accompanied by markers and erasers.
- 100 branded clear bags, each containing exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners.
- Instructional materials for the nursery section, including alphabetical, numerical, and anatomical charts.
- A monetary token to recognize and support two volunteer staff members.
The event concluded with light refreshments, fostering camaraderie and interaction among attendees.
The event was met with enthusiasm and positive feedback from all attendees. Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support, with goodwill messages underscoring the importance of the initiative. The School gave a sincere vote of thanks, emphasizing the impact of the provided materials on their teaching and learning experiences.
GDEF successfully established a meaningful precedent for future projects, reflecting its dedication to enhancing education and supporting vulnerable pupils in crisis-affected areas.
